casa vides is one of 2 houses here in el paso that provide hospitality to migrants. one of my roommates works a shift there every friday and i have been going for dinner. i'm meeting amazing people with different migration stories. right now there is a large group of ethiopian asylees and an el salvadorean couple who are expecting a baby any day.

Josie...I don't know if you remember me, Libby, Lisa Kallenbach's friend and your fellow Anth 103 mentor. I stumbled across your site on blogsearch when I was searching for Casa Vides because I used to live there as a volunteer. Most amazing experience of my life and I miss it SO MUCH.
