mexico mother-daughter trip

i spent the week of semana santa in cholula, mexico with my mom, my friend andrea, and her mother visiting a good friend from college, hugo francisco phillips. andrea and i volunteered with hugh during our time in college and he moved down to mexico last fall and has made a lovely home for himself in la ciudad sagrada.

it was great to visit him and see the warm community he has found there. we were treated like royalty the whole week-- a special dinner at the house of some friends who own a restaurant, driving tours of the surrounding country-side with our new friend cristian aka "el hunko", a trip to the nearby state of tlaxcala and the talavera factories, hugh's expert guidance through many of the impressive and ornate churches in the area, delicious meals, kind people everywhere... it was hard to come home!
