we spent an afternoon hiking in the mountains near las cruces, but the weather didn't exactly cooperate. it's the windy season here-- which means winds that can blow you into moving vehicles (and almost knocked me off my bike a couple weeks ago!) and so much dust in the air that we couldn't even see the city as we made our way up the mountain. but it was still good community time.
